One of the important and demanded areas of work of the otorhinolaryngologists of the clinic K+31 is cooperation with dentists - implantologists.
Modern technologies for restoring lost teeth often require the use of the space of the maxillary sinus for placement of osteoplastic material and subsequent installation of implants. Today we want to tell you about the cooperation of our specialists - an otorhinolaryngologist and a dentist, and together they perform sinus lifting.
Sinus lift is a surgical procedure for bone augmentation of the upper jaw for the installation of implants. Without it, the post on which the implant is placed will not hold firmly if the bone is thin or the site suitable for implantation is too high.
Despite the widespread and successful implementation of implantation operations on the upper jaw with raising the floor of the maxillary sinus, there are two problems:
- Possible development of inflammation of the maxillary sinus (MP) after sinus lift.
- The existing pathology of the paranasal sinuses, which limits the conduct of this operation.
