They have a uniform thickness along the entire length and are a dense silicone shell filled with a special silicone gel. These implants are typically used to achieve overall volumetric enhancement of the calf.

Asymmetrical prostheses are suitable for repeating the configuration of the calf muscle. They are characterized by uneven thickness. Moreover, their maximum profile is in the upper part of the implant. This type of prosthesis is relevant in most cases because it allows for more precise correction of certain areas of the lower leg.

Preparation for cruroplasty

The most important stage of preparation is to stop taking a number of medications that can affect the blood clotting process. However, you must first consult with your doctor.

On the eve of the operation, you need to take a shower and put on comfortable clothes. At the time of the operation, the stomach must be empty, so you must first do a cleansing enema.

Preparation for surgery begins several weeks before the expected date of the intervention. It includes:

Rejection of bad habits Smoking can be a serious obstacle to successful wound healing after surgery. This is due to the negative effect of nicotine on the blood supply to tissues. Therefore, smokers should give up this habit at least a couple of weeks before leg cruroplasty. The same requirement applies to alcohol: excess ethanol can negatively affect blood clotting.
