Types of operation

Liposuction is a process of aspiration (suction) of fat from subcutaneous tissue. The approach to this process varies depending on the technology used.

Among the most commonly corrected areas in men are the chin, anterior abdominal wall and waist. For women, these are the sides and hips.

The success of the procedure largely depends on the experience and qualifications of the doctor. Therefore, the choice of specialist and clinic should be carried out with special care.

The following types of body liposuction are distinguished:

  • Vacuum Traditional version of abdominal liposuction. In this case, a cannula is used to transform the subcutaneous fat into a homogeneous mass, which is then aspirated. This is a rather traumatic method, but, nevertheless, it allows you to remove significant amounts of fat.
  • Tumenescent Subcutaneous tissue is pre-treated with a lipolytic solution. Thanks to this, the fat removal process is less traumatic.
  • Ultrasonic This method removes fat with minimal damage to surrounding tissue.
  • Laser Modern and most delicate method. During the operation, laser radiation specifically destroys fat cells.
General information about the procedure

Risks

One of the most common risks after fat pumping is the spread of infection. To prevent this, it is necessary for the doctor to comply with all requirements regarding sterility. In addition to infections, there are other potential complications:

  • Burns. They can be obtained using ultrasound or laser liposuction. This occurs against the background of strong heating of the instruments
  • Emboli (fat, air). These microscopic particles enter the bloodstream and cause blockages in blood vessels. In the most severe cases, death occurs against this background
  • Problems with anesthesia. The medicine used before liposuction can cause a number of side effects. Possible allergic reaction and breathing problems

Sometimes there is nerve damage in the area of ​​the procedure. This leads to loss of sensation or disruption of muscle function in the operated area.

Preparation for the procedure

Two weeks before liposuction, you should avoid blood thinning products and medications. 3 days before the procedure, avoid alcohol and nicotine: otherwise, there is a risk of increased bleeding and the healing process will slow down.

The day before liposuction, minimize physical activity. This will prevent the risk of increased blood flow to the tissues. If you have high blood pressure, be sure to consult with your doctor about ways to stabilize it.

Before the operation, a light dinner is acceptable (the most important thing is not to eat later than 18:00). Before going to bed, be sure to cleanse your intestines with an enema. On the day of surgery, refrain from eating.

Come to the medical center in advance (20-30 minutes before surgery). Be sure to bring a bandage and compression garments with you.

Operation steps

The first stage is anesthesia. Depending on the scope of work, both local anesthesia and general anesthesia are used. Further steps:

  1. Preparation for the procedure. The surgical field is carefully processed and sterilized
  2. Introduction of solution. The surgeon injects a special solution into the area of ​​adipose tissue. It consists of a fluid with electrolytes, a local anesthetic and drugs that constrict blood vessels. This step helps reduce the risk of blood loss and makes further fat removal easier
  3. Making cuts. The surgeon makes microincisions on the skin through which the instruments will pass
  4. Fat removal. Using a cannula connected to a sterile hose and a vacuum pump, the process of aspiration of fat occurs. If necessary, the “syringe” method is used

After the procedure is completed, the incisions are sutured. Sometimes a specialist installs drains to drain excess fluid. A compression bandage or bandage is then applied to the treated area.

The postoperative period depends on the scale of the procedure. If a small amount of fat has been removed, the patient returns home the same day. In other cases, he requires a short stay in the clinic.

Rehabilitation process

Immediately after the procedure there is a feeling of discomfort. Pain is usually mild and well controlled with medication.

There will likely be bruising and swelling in the areas where surgery was performed. These symptoms are the body's normal response to injury and usually resolve on their own within a few weeks.

Main stages of rehabilitation:

  • First days. In the first days after surgery, the areas where the procedure was performed become soft to the touch. However, over time they harden due to swelling
  • First weeks. During this time, the person should wear compression garments. It reduces swelling and stimulates proper tissue formation

Approximately 1.5 months after the procedure, most patients return to normal physical activity.
