Strategies for aesthetic breast correction: how to do a breast lift

Breast lift is one of the most popular procedures in plastic surgery. This operation allows you to restore the natural shape and elasticity.

• Minimum correction. For women whose breasts have slightly lost their firmness, implants may be the optimal solution. They fill and shape without the need to remove skin
• Correction through the areola. When the changes are subtle but still noticeable, the surgeon may make a small incision around the areola. This method minimizes the visibility of the seam and is ideal for mild ptosis

Breast lift is usually performed under general anesthesia. The procedure time varies, but in most cases it takes between one and three hours. The duration depends on the chosen technique and the individual characteristics of the patient.

Stages of mammoplasty surgery: how a breast lift is done from marking to recovery

A breast lift with implants, known as a mastopexy, is a complex surgical procedure designed to improve shape and volume. Let's consider the main stages of the operation.

1. Preliminary marking. Before the operation begins, the surgeon marks the surgical area. In this case, the patient is in an upright position. The markings not only indicate the location of future incisions, but also take into account individual characteristics, including breast asymmetry.
2. Anesthesia and incisions. For the patient's comfort, general anesthesia is used. The surgeon makes incisions around the areola, vertically down and along the inframammary fold.
3. Correction and installation of implants. Once access is achieved, the doctor removes excess skin and glandular tissue. The next stage is the formation of a place for the implant, after which it is installed in the prepared bed. Taking into account the new position of the implant, the nipple also moves to the optimal position.
4. Finishing touches. After installing the implant and correcting the shape of the breast, the surgeon installs a drain to remove excess fluid and applies absorbable sutures. At the end of the operation, the patient is put on a compression garment to support the breasts in the desired position during the healing process.

Mammoplasty time varies from 1.5 to 3.5 hours. Upon completion of the operation, the patient is transported to the intensive care unit for awakening from anesthesia and initial observation.

Life after mammoplasty: stages of recovery and self-care

Once the choice of breast lift technique is over and the procedure is completed, one of the most important stages begins - recovery. The entire process, from the operation itself, which lasts about 90 minutes, to final healing, is worth considering in detail.

The first hours after mammoplasty are the most critical time. Immediately after the operation, the patient is moved to the intensive care ward, where she wakes up under the supervision of specialists. Then, already fully conscious, she is transferred to a standard ward for further recovery. All this time she will be wearing specialized compression garments, which will speed up the healing process and minimize the risk of complications.

The professionalism of the surgeon is a guarantee that the risks of extensive hematomas, infections or loss of sensitivity are minimal. However, some body reactions, such as swelling, are considered normal and go away without additional treatment.

A gradual return to everyday life occurs within a few days. However, complete recovery takes about a month. To ensure the successful completion of the rehabilitation stage, the patient meets with the surgeon several times, the first time a week after the operation.

It is recommended to wear compression underwear for about a month. It not only provides comfort, but also helps maintain the achieved shape.

The final result may vary depending on the individual characteristics of each woman, but in general it remains long-term and does not affect the possibility of becoming a mother in the future.
