I became a pediatrician because I want our children not to have the fear that we adults have. I want children from the very first days to be treated in comfortable conditions and not be afraid, then in adulthood they will go to the dentist with joy.
Today we have high quality anesthesia, modern devices and materials, as well as a cofferdam. This is a cloth that isolates one tooth or several, ensuring the safety of the baby. It protects the gums, eliminates the need for cotton rolls and prolongs the life of the filling. It would seem that only one tool, but how much use. And so it is in all modern dentistry.
And I really appreciate children's smiles and emotions.
During treatment with us, many children do not even notice that we are giving them an injection. If the child is already big enough, we communicate with him in an adult way. But if we have a baby in front of us, we turn into storytellers, we say that a microbe can start to bite, we ask you to share your feelings, turn on cartoons. And after the reception, our little patients receive small gifts from us that help brighten up the trip to the doctor.
Of course, there are children who already come with negative experiences. They need to control everything, so we tell and show everything, some want to see the tools, even a syringe. Parents also help to find an approach to the child. They know how to soothe the baby in the best way.
It is important to bring the child to the doctor when he does not have any pain. Then the reception will be comfortable. If the baby came to us for the first time, we teach him: we tell him how to open his mouth, how to sit, what the doctor will do. This is an important element of adaptation. Of course, when acute situations arise, the most optimal and safest way is to treat teeth under anesthesia.
